Support our work

Access to outdoor recreation is one of the Flathead Valley’s greatest strengths—shaping our identity, supporting local communities, and connecting people to this landscape. But as visitation increases and maintenance needs grow, our trail systems face mounting pressure that no single agency or organization can address alone.

Sustaining the places we love requires partnership, communication, and a community committed to working together.

That’s where you come in.

The Flathead Trails Association has made meaningful strides this year in strengthening collaboration, supporting partners, and building volunteer capacity—and now we need your help to carry that momentum forward.

Donate today to help keep the Flathead Valley’s trails, and the communities that depend on them, thriving for years to come.

Your support has the power to

  • Help us maintain momentum as we work with the Flathead National Forest, Montana State Parks, local municipalities, and partner organizations to support the maintenance and care of the region’s most used and most loved trails.

  • Fuel our ongoing work to serve as the connector between trail organizations, land managers, and volunteers—helping everyone stay aligned, informed, and working toward shared stewardship goals.

  • Support training opportunities such as CPR/first aid, crosscut and chainsaw certification, volunteer leadership development, bear spray use and safety, and trail-level wildfire resilience strategies. These trainings ensure that volunteers have the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to safely and effectively contribute to trail maintenance and stewardship.

  • Help us grow efforts like the website’s volunteer portal, partner communications, and collaborative projects that improve public understanding of trail conditions, stewardship needs, and responsible recreation.

  • Your support helps FTA create opportunities for local youth, schools, and community groups to participate in trail stewardship. These programs build future trail advocates, connect young people to public lands, and ensure a strong stewardship ethic for years to come.

  • Your donation helps provide the hand tools, PPE, signage, and supplies that volunteer crews and partner groups rely on. These resources directly improve trail tread, drainage, and overall user safety—work that agencies often don’t have the budget or staff capacity to cover.
